My Army Days and a Back That Broke

I spent four years in the Army as an infantryman. Two years in, I broke my back — a pars fracture with a grade 2 slip at L5–S1. By this year, it started pressing on my spinal cord and sciatic nerve. Overnight, I went from working constantly to barely being able to walk. Steroid injections helped me move, but the pain was relentless.

Sleep was tough. Bending over hurt. Even small daily tasks became impossible — and I was only 23.

After trying everything — pills, painkillers, stretches — a friend introduced me to CBD. That’s when the idea for Calyx Frost began.

I started experimenting with CBD to create a formula that truly helped. With the support of our partners at Herbal Edge and my loving wife, together we spent the better part of a year testing different formulas. Months of testing, trial, and error later, we found a combination that worked. Family and friends tried it — and every single one saw results.

But we didn’t want to make another sketchy, untested product. Too many local shops sell stuff you can’t trust. I wanted clean, effective, and honest.

We didn’t stop at the formula. Packaging matters. Calyx Frost comes in frosted amber glass jars, with real bamboo lids and cork liners. Labels are made from hemp.

Every batch is tested multiple times: cannabinoids are tested through DEA-accredited labs, and final batches go through the Utah Department of Agriculture. Small-batch, clean, and preservative-free — that’s how we keep quality high.
